China scholarship online application

The 2022/2023 Chinese Government Scholarshipis now open for application. Online application (www.campuschina.org) should be submitted no later than January 31 ,2022 .

To be eligible, applicants must

- be a citizen of a country other than the People's Republic of China, and be in good health both mentally and physically.

-be an academically excellent holder of high school diploma or its equivalent under the age of 25 when applying for an undergraduate program;

-be an academically excellent holder of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 35 when applying for a Master’s program;

-be an academically excellent holder of a Master’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 40 when applying for a doctoral program;

-be a holder of a high school diploma (or higher) under the age of 45 when applying for a general scholar program;

-be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) under the age of 50 when applying for a senior scholar program;

-have passed the HSK (Level 3) when applying for a Chinese-taught undergraduate or general scholar program (excluding Chinese language majors);

-have passed the HSK (Level 3) when applying for a Chinese-taught senior scholar program;

-have passed the HSK (Level 4) when applying for a Chinese-taught postgraduate program;

-meet the admission requirements of the university of preference in terms of language proficiency and academic ability, among others, when applying for a program taught in a language other than Chinese.

a) Application Form (in Chinese or English): The Application Form will be created automatically after the correct filling through Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (CGSIS) . Instructions of the online application is in the next chapter .

b) S canned C opy of Passport Information Page . An applicant shall submit a clear scanned copy of the information page of his/her passport that will not expire on or before March 1 , 2023. If the validity of the current passport does not meet the requirement, please apply for a new passport before submitting the application. An a pplicant who fails to apply for a passport before submitting their applications due to objective reasons may submit valid documentation or documentary evidence that carries information about the full English name, sex, nationality and date of birth of the applicant upon the approval of the Embassy .

c) Diploma and C ertificate of H ighest E ducation (notarized photocopy) . An applicant who is a current university student shall submit the certificate of expected graduation or student status issued by his/her university . Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

d) Academic T ranscripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

e) Language Qualification Certificates. Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must submit valid HSK reports in accordance with the corresponding Chinese proficiency requirements. Applicants for other language-taught programs shall provide relevant language proficiency certificates according to the universities’ requirements, like IELTS or TOFEL report.

f) Admission Documents. To apply for master’s and doctoral degree or as general and senior scholars, applicants shall provide admission documents issued by the applied universities. Admission documents include admission notice, pre-admission letter, invitation from professors and etc. Applicants with admission documents will obtain the priority in winning the Chinese Government Scholarship.

g) A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English. (A minimum of 200 words for undergraduates, 500 words for non-degree students, and 800 words for postgraduates.)

h ) Recommendation L etters . Applicants for graduate programs or senior scholar programs must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors.

i) Example of Art. To apply for art or design related majors, applicants could submit their own works through “Example of Art/Other Supporting Documents” in the CGSIS. Applicants could also provide such materials to the applied universities directly in other ways.

j ) Applicants still under the age of 18 before enrolling in September 2022, should submit the valid documents of their legal guardians in China. Those applicants could fill in the “Contact in China” through CGSIS. If he/she doesn’t have any contact person or organization in China ,he/she may contact with and fill in the Fijian Embassy in China.

k ) Applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months must submit a photocopy of the attached Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy should be kept by the applicant. The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

L) Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

Please carefully read and follow the instructions in applying for the scholarship through the CGSIS.

Please use Firefox or Internet Explorer (11.0). For applicants using the Internet Explorer, please close the “compatible view mode” function ahead of editing. Please fill in all application information in Chinese or English.

Step1: Visit “CSC Study in China” website and click “Scholarship Applications for Students” at http://www.campuschina.org

Register an account through “CREAT AN ACCOUNT” and login with your account.

Step 2: Input Personal Details. Click “Application Online” and then click “Edit Personal Details” to finish inputting personal details by filling in all the information, verifying and saving the information. After the completion of this section, return to the previous page by clicking “Finish” and start filling in your application information.

Step 3: Select the correct “Program Category”. Please select Program Category "Type A".

Step 4: Input the correct Agency Number. The Agency Number is 2421.

Program Category and Agency Number are directly matched, both are mandatory for online application. After inputting agency number, the matched agency name will automatically show on the page. Application processing authorities will not receive your online application if the program category or agency number are not correct.

Step 5: Input Application Information

1) Please continue to the fill in the section of “Language Proficiency and Study Plan”. You could choose and fill in three preferred Institutes.

When applicants of “Type A” application choose the “Preferences of Institutes”, system will automatically match the available universities according to the selected “ Student Category, Preferred teaching language”. With any inquiry concerning the available majors of each university, please visit the following website at http://www.campuschina.org/universities/index.html

( * There are nearly 300 universities available, please study the universities and make your choices carefully. )

“ Catalog of Discipline Field, First-level Discipline, Specialty” is available from the “Help”, applicants could download the file to identify the relation between Discipline and Major.

2) Then upload “Supporting Documents” as requested, click “Submit” to complete the application.

Check each part of your application carefully before submission. Please make sure that all the information and uploaded documents are valid and accurate.

Attention: Once submitted, amendment cannot be made on “Personal Details” and “Application Information”. Before the application being processed by the processing authorities, applicant can revoke the submitted application by clicking “Withdraw” and edit the application. After revoking the application, applicant must submit at second time after re-editing, or the application will not be processed. Once the application is processed, application cannot be revoked.

Step 6 :Click “Print the Application Form” and download the form.

Step 7 : Send the application form to the Liaison Officer of Chinese Embassy.

* The Bilateral Program and the Unilateral Program both provide tuition waiver, free accommodation, stipend and comprehensive medical insurance. The difference between them is that, the Unilateral Program will cover the air ticket when the recipient first come to China and the return ticket after his/her graduation, meanwhile the Bilateral Program doesn’t cover the airfare. There are limited seats for each Program,the selection choice should be made cautiously.

* All uploaded supporting documents must be clear, authentic and valid. Applicants are recommended to use professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicants shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable uploaded materials. The applications are all completed online as required,the embassy will no longer accept paper mailing materials.

* Answers of the Program Selection (Bilateral or Unilateral Program and whether to accept adjustment of Program) must be provided in your email.

The website (http://www.campuschina.org) is the only official website that China Scholarship Council publishing Study in China information, please do not trust information from any other portals or sources.

1) December 11 , 2021 to January 31 , 202 2

Applicants submit their online applications.

2) February 1 to 28 ,202 2

The Chinese E mbassy in Fiji will examine the application forms and supporting documents and then duly carry out the interview. After that, the Embassy will send all recommended applications to China Scholarship Council for review.

3) Late July or early August,202 2

China Scholarship Council confirm the candidates' application and send admission letters to the Embassy. Scholarship winners will get Email notice to get the admission letter and JW201 visa form at the Embassy and prepare for the further studying.
