5 Affordable Care Act Marketplace plans from UnitedHealthcare

Everyone has different health care needs — that’s why UnitedHealthcare Individual & Family ACA Marketplace health care plans come in several different plan types to fit your lifestyle and your budget. Wondering which type of plan might be right for you? Here are the five types of UnitedHealthcare Individual & Family plans we offer.

Essential plan

Premium $, deductible $$$$

Value plan

Premium $$$, deductible $$

The Value plan has a higher premium than our Essential plan, but with a lower deductible before coinsurance starts. This plan offers low-copay primary care visits with your provider, and some plan types offer a Health Savings Account (HSA) option, a type of savings account that lets you set aside money pre-tax to pay for qualified medical expenses.

A Value plan might be a good fit if you see your provider regularly and want something with a few more benefits covered than an Essential plan, like:

Advantage plan

Premium $$$$, deductible $

An Advantage Plan is a benefit-rich plan with a lot of coverage, including:

Plus, many plan extras like:

This plan is a good match if you see your provider often, and you’re willing to pay a little more each month in premiums in order to pay less when you get care.

Virtual First plan 3

Premium $$, deductible $$$

Virtual First 3 plans are built with flexibility and convenience on the go. This plan is a good fit if you’d rather talk, text or have a video visit with a provider on your tablet or mobile phone instead of heading to the clinic. Your 24/7 access to virtual primary and urgent care lets you chat with your provider on your schedule, when it’s most convenient for you. With this plan the Galileo mobile app will be your first stop for all your care needs — plus, you have the option to connect with Spanish-speaking providers right through the app.

With a Virtual First 3 plan, you’ll get benefits like:

Copay Focus plan 4

Premium $$$$, no deductible

Copay Focus plans are designed to help you know what your care costs may be before you head to the provider. With a $0 medical deductible, you won’t have to worry about paying out of pocket to reach a deductible before your plan kicks in. This plan comes with a higher monthly premium so that you can pay a low copay (usually $15-$30) when you get care.

A Copay Focus plan is a good fit for you if you prefer having predictable care costs, while still getting plan extras like:
